For the past few months, I’ve been working hard to get my photo library online on Flickr. Not only will this provide a back-up to my iPhoto library, but it makes it easier for me to share my photos on my blog and with friends and family.

It was a great time (lots of dancing and time with my sister). In addition to grooving to “The YMCA” song and LL Cool J, we also got to play with a fun new idea. Amy hired a photo booth to come to the wedding.

All the guests got to have photos made and then we were given 2 copies: 1 for that we added to a personal album for Amy & Gene and got to write comments, and the other copy we got to take home. It was a clever idea. I suggested to Brett that he make one for to keep in our basement; it’ll be a great party addition!

I have some fun pics of me, my sister, and my dad, but I have to ask their permission first before I post!

Also, please note that Brett didn’t scan these photos; I did it quickly using a document scanner. He would never approve of the quality… but he was busy when I wanted to write this post!

We’ve Tivoed nearly everything, so we’ve been able to catch some of the lesser known sports like: BMX racing, shotput, badminton, table tennis, shooting, trampoline, and weight-lifting.

The other night we were watching wrestling when we heard a familiar voice… it was Rulon Gardner. Rulon won a gold medal in wrestling and became quite a media sensation. Brett and I met him at one of my conferences where he served as our keynote speaker. Since I used to serve as the onsite contact for the keynote speakers, I got to know them as well as you can in a few hours.Rulon headlocks Brett and Sonia

In honor of the Olympics, Brett and I thought we’d share our Olympic moment, which included a headlock by a very strong and fun guy! And yes, I did get to hold the gold medal. Quite nice.

During the two-plus weeks they were there, they caught all the fish they were allowed to keep.

Dad’s biggest record: a 6.5 lb. walleye!

Dad and Rich camped out, but they had TV, so I’m not sure how that works. Every day started at 4 AM, and for some reason, they were the only ones on the lake!

Dad says that one day he and Rich caught 100 bass between them, but unfortunately bass fishing season hadn’t started yet. (That’s what they all say…)

I wanted to share some of Dad’s photos, so take a look. Looks like we’ll be having a fish fry sometime soon!
