You’ve Got to Read My New Post on “Bad Press for a Penny” at Coleman Unlimited.com

It’s quite a story!
Find out my thoughts on how a city government created a PR blunder with unmonitored accounting and a bad attitude. And guess who’s the victim: a 74-year-old blind lady!
I am also really excited because one of my favorite e-newsletter publishers, The Publicity Hound, read the post and commented! I feel like I’ve [...]

Thankful for Thanksgiving

As this time of year rolls around, I always look forward to a day devoted to giving thanks. I guess it started back when I was a kid in school–I always looked forward to the break from hard work, from the daily grind. We always had relaxing Thanksgiving holidays at our house. My grandma would [...]

Check out the new look of PlanetSonia.com

Brett has been teaching me more and more about web. So last week, I changed the look of PlanetSonia.com, my more writing-focused blog.
What do you think?

Popping Pomegranates

Last year, Brett and I discovered a faster way to get the ruby red jewels out of a pomegranate, thanks to Alton Brown’s Good Eats TV show. Brett has grown up with the alien-looking fruits, which are hard for me to hold in one hand. But trying to open them and get out the juice-surrounded [...]

SLFC Sermon Notes Now to Be Posted on www.PlanetSonia.com

To friends and anyone interested in some good uplifting words,
I am going to start posting my raw sermon notes from St. Louis Family Church on my other blog, PlanetSonia.com.
I’ve been taking digital notes since last year when I got my iPhone, and I type around 35 WPM, so I catch quite a lot of good [...]

Still Buzzing!

It’s been an hour and a half.
The lamp is still buzzing, although it is a subtle, more quiet version of the buzz. Almost tolerable.

As many of you know I’ve been working from home the last several months since I left my job at NAED. I have a great workspace with a window, a 24″ monitor, places for my files, and my new ScanSnap document scanner.
I also have this lamp which I inherited from Brett. It is a nice [...]

Pretty cool, ehh? I would vote for him a heartbeat!

25 Cool Close-up Photos

Can you guess what this photo is? It’s an extreme close-up of an every day object.
Brett passed along this link to share from SmashingMagazine.com. I checked it out this morning, and it is fun to see the amazing details that a macro photo can reveal.
A feast for the eyes! Check it out. This photo [...]

I Agree Totally!

… with this quote:
“We need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth.”
-  Virginia Satir
Are you getting (and giving) enough hugs? Remember, the hug goes both ways!
By the way, this photo is from a guy who made news for giving free [...]
